Why I don’t need new software

Meine Kinder haben WoW gekauft - der Screenshot entstand nach 3 Tagen Nutzung..
My kids bought WoW- this displayed after three (3) days usage:

I tried to reach Blizzard Support by Phone - no reaction. I used their support form on the web to ask for help - no reaction.

So they think that it’s normal that you buy software and have to download 3,2GB after 3 days .. just to update… Watch out for Diablo3 and the upcoming “patches” !

Bei 3.2 GB spiele ich lieber Tetris. Kann das so eh nicht laden mit meiner 384Kbit Leitung…

dauert doch nur ~20 stunden :P

kannst auch nen freund oder kollegen der eventuell wow aufm rechner hat fragen ob er dir seine archivdateien (weiss nich genau wie die heissen)
auf dvd brennt…dürfte in jedem fall schneller gehen

das allergeilste am blizzard updater is ja, dass man gleichzeitig auch noch hochladen muss (damit blizzards bandbreite geschont wird, die is nämlich auf 160kb/s beschränkt)

da nutzt mir meine gbit leitung ins internet auch wenig, weil ich pro woche n trafficlimit von 5 gb habe…

Bei mir kommt noch hinzu dass ich ab 2GB/Monat pro extra MB zahle - der Download würde mich mehr kosten als die DvD ! (18,5 €)

Ich finds eine frechheit aber naja ich sag nur WoW^^sollens Diablo zocken kommt günstiger^^Und du ersparts dir Nerven!

Its just the first time you install the game you have to download a big patch.

Its no problem imo, just download while you’re afk

well, its just 3.2gb not a big deal, few hrs

And i noticed that its kinda normal nowadays for game’s patches to be that big ;P

Yeah it is “normal” these days. Atm i play Last Chaos (similar to Wow - but free play) And i had to wait for 2,8Gb to dl in patch

I had to download more than 3.5 gb in Lineage when i was updating so Oly its normal in MMO games -.-

The new patch for ‘Wrath of The Lich King’ just came out, thats why it’s such a huge patch.

I’m assuming you updated 2.4.2 to 3.0.2, this does not normally happen, only when it’s a HUGE update, normally they around around 25mn max.

Update:
I got an answere from Blizzard. They were polite and offered to give me the money back.

Also I got an answer from the local software dealer here(Expert). He offered the same and when I told them “thank you - I have found a solution now” they offered me the “Wrath of the Lich King” - for free

So finally - happy kids (and lucky, that they even get the latest version)
